Round 6 AROCA Winton Sprint and Alfa Racing 2 August

SR and EF attached.
Avoid disappointment by entering early as it will fill out quickly.

Along with the Alfa Racing SR, our 2nd Alfa Racing event, we should expect an exciting field.
Note:  there has been a slight change to the Alfa Racing category with the inclusion of the use of racing slicks in Class B.

Final call for entries for Sprints and Alfa Racing.

Fingers crossed this break in the weather holds out. Might be a bit chilly at 7am!

I can't be stuffed towing the race car all that way!  The VRA chaps know that us 'mexicans' don't like to travel very far...

I beg to differ.

I think you'll find it is.

Hint: which Winton?

You need to pay attention on this Forum, my BAD I am preoccupied with Camry and Camry hybrid talks on the 10 hours thread.

Rain looks heavy at Winton today, but forecast still suggests it will clear for tomorrow. Come up for a nice winter drive and watch some sprinting and racing!

#12
Here are the results of Alfa Racing Round 2 at Winton.

Class A

John Floyd             ...40pts
Carlo Santoro         ...30pts
Evan Bottcher         ...26pts
Stuart Thomson      ...22pts
Neil Choi                ...17pts

Congratulations to John Floyd for a well deserved class win!

NB no Class B cars were entered for the day.

This year Alfa Racing has been a 'proof of concept' and it has proven to be very successful.  In two rounds we've had 13 cars run, and we know there are at least 10 more cars eligible and drivers showing strong interest.  We now need to build the number of competitors for next year so everyone needs to get out there and encourage club members to participate.

Racing is the next logical step from sprinting for those who want to get more serious, but still on a low budget and able to have a good laugh with racing mates afterwards - no sheep stations are at stake!  Once you've got the license and gear and have raced with us, then you can also get involved in the VRA East Coast Challenge races and join a big field of Alfas racing each other from all over the country.

Get amongst it!
