rubber boots on wiring harness

Hi
Have noticed many male to female connectors dont have a rubber boots to keep dust and moisture out. Some do have an interior plastic flange that does the job. Attached pic shows a sensor sans boot on the air con pipe near the water tank for the w/screen washer. Have seen this connector with a rubber boot on other 156's. Is it my car missing a lot of boots? or were they not installed at the factory.
Also the 1cm black sticky fabric tape used to wrap the wiring harness is coming away like the bandages on an egyptian mummy in places! Anyone acquired a roll of replacement factory tape? (in the spirit of keeping the car super original)

ps the avatar picture is the car as found at the wreckers. Seeing the car in those surrounds was like finding Cinderella' glass slipper with an address inside! the last living flower in a garden of ruin or the beckoning  marble hand of Venus thru a tangle of thorns.

I've had a couple of 156's and they both had boots there.. I'd say yours is missing a boot.
