I was tyre kicking today down at the local alfa farm and the sales manager was very helpful indeed
after I said I only wish they were rear wheel drive he said " ÿou might be in luck" Fiat has decided to take alfa up a step closer to Maserati and go back to 4 wheel and rear wheel drive rather than it being an up market fiat they want it as a poor mans masser/fasser
Cant wait ! hope its true , if the 4c is the start cant wait for the finish.
heres hoping

Well, the new MX5 that was being co-developed with Fiat group was supposed to be a new Alfa spider - but they've decided that affordable modern sports cars is not the way for Alfa, and it's going to come out as a Fiat Spider.

When I was in the local Alfa shop this week drooling over the 4C in the showroom, the sales rep said a RWD Giulia-based hatch was also in the wings to replace the current Giulietta in the next couple of years.
Now:    2002 156 GTA
            1981 GTV
Before: 1999 156 V6 Q-auto

I really think they are now trying to move the range more upmarket which is where it should be. An Alfa Romeo never was an every man's car but that is the direction they were starting to take. Given the brand's history I really think they needed to get back to their roots and that appears to be happening now. I can't wait to see new models. :)

Isn't it most likely this will be a variation / version of the Maserati Ghibli already on sale?

Fiat are very good at quickly releasing derivatives.  Just look at the latest Jeep Renegade (Fiat 500x), and Dodge Dart (Alfa Giulietta).  Not surprising given they've been doing it for decades.  Fiat Tipo = Alfa 155 = Alfa 156 etc.  Maybe Fiat has more in common with VW than we give them credit for.

For those in Qld - just read the April magazine (even the editorial - which is full of Silvio's BS instead of mine this month...)... Better get back to the grindstone...
