November 24 - 11 Cars Committed to Group S Challenge

Response to the Group S Challenge has been phenominal with 11 cars now committed to the category.  Two cars are now 99% sure for Phillip Island and another two cars got underway last weekend.  Look out 2007!

September 29 - Phillip Island Classic 9/10/11 March 2007 - Update

Group S will now run in one combined Group Sa,  Sb, Sc race at the Phillip Island Classic with 54 entries being accepted on a “first in” basis.   This means if you wnat to run at Phillip Island you will need to get your entry in early.  Tis is a big event and attracts large fields.

September 15 - Historic Sandown Entry Forms

Supplementary regulations are available for Historic Sandown. They can be downloaded from the "Calendar" page on the VHRR website (http://www.vhrr.com/), or call Sandra Caffin on (03) 9744 1807. 

Groups Sb & Sc are scheduled to race together. Group Sa is programmed to compete with J, K and L. Dorian timers are required for Sb & Sc, but Sa will be manually timed.

The entry fee is $285, plus $100 for private practice on Friday, plus $130 for a garage/marquee/carport car space. A bundled package of all three is $500.

Entires open on 10th July and close on 16th October.

July 18 - Two More Cars Underway

Malvern Motorsport has revealed two more Group S cars currently (one soon to be) under construction.  Scott Farquharson said that it is hoped to have the first car ready for Sandown Historics in November and the second ready by mid 2007.  The first car is a 1980 Alfetta GTV (red of course) and the second a 1975 Blue Alfetta GT (picked up off ebay).  For more info on car 1 click here and car 2 click here.

July 17 - Project S Revealed!

Long time AROCA Vic member and competitor Phil Baskett has been the first to unveil a Group S project.  Phil picked up the car (a Alfetta GTV 2 litre) just recently from an ad in the AROCA website Forums "Buy and Sell" section.  Phil is hoping to have the car ready for the 6 Hour as a shakedown before it's first Group S race at Phillip Island next year.  Good luck Phil. June 22 - Alfa Group S Challenge is Go!

The AROCA Committee on Tuesday night agreed to establishing an annual Trophy for the Alfa Group S Challenge.  1st 2nd and 3rd place tropies will be awarded to competitors accumulating the most points at nominated Group S events in Victoria.  The series will be sponsored by Malvern Motorsport.

The web site will be expanded over the coming weeks to provide all the details on this exciting, low cost Historic Race Series.
