Entry forms for the Phillip Island Classic to be run on the 7,8,9th March 2008 are now available.  Contact the VHRR for an entry.  When they are available electronically I will post them here.

Should be another cracking Group S contingent.

I believe that the NSW Group S contingent wont be coming down this year, mainly due to the FoSC Bathurst event just two weeks later.

However there will be a handful of Group N Alfa boys coming down, and rumour has it Bill Magoffin will be bringing the Group C 105 down for a run.

I have just discovered that a 1932 Alfa Romeo P3 in the hands of regular Phillip Island visitor Peter Giddings - fresh from a total restoration in New Zealand - will be at this meeting.

Yes, the Gidding's P3 is a definite starter.  I want my picture taken with it.

VHRR have released the entry list (it can be found on their website).  14 Alfa's entered for the meeting (+1 Alfa/Ricciardi of Club member Bill Prowse) in Group N, Group S, Regularity, and of course the P3 entered in Group K.

Some other cars of note are 4 ex-F1 cars from the 70's & 80's and the world's most powerful sports car the Porsche CanAm 917/30, producing up to 1580HP in qualifying trim!!

Although with much disappointment I have run out of time and I am going to have to be a late withdrawal. Angry

I will be getting the car back on Saturday, then re-fit all the bits I took out for the panel beaters...not a big job and I can fiddle around with most of that myself, but it is all the stuff that has to happen after that.  Wheel alignment and then a longish list of jobs for Hugh then get scrutineered for the targeted scrutiny programme, it may be ok but it will be very tight.  To be honest, as long as it is ready for Bathurst FoSC that is all that matters right now.

Does anyone know if a programme of races has been issued either on the web or as an attachment to competitors?  The VHRR site is no help at all.  I am going to go for one day, probably Saturday, but may be able to change that if the F5000s (and of course the Alfas) are only running on the Sunday.
