Hi Guys

Just some pickies of my new Baby. Moved up in the world fron 33's to a GTV6. Picked her up and drove down to Warrnambool to check out a 75 which will be with me in a week or so:-)

Time for a change.

Anyone who can ident the type of Zender kit on this would be appreciaited. I think it was fitted when the car was purchased new.

It does look good and the sound - oh the sound of that V6 - enought to make your hair stand on end :-)

Catch ya

Shane

That looks really smart!  And it looks like it's got the original worldwide "Alfa Club" sticker behind the drivers' side B Piller on the window!

I recall that Zender had only one kit for the GTV6: front bumper/spoiler; rear bumper; rear boot spoiler; side skirts and side panels.

Advertising at the time had a Playboy bunny draped over the bonnet of a white GTV6 that had spoilers on it.  What I can't remember if the car was a white Zender GTV6 or a white Grand Prix GTV6?

She's a beauty Shane!  Time for a polish up and I'll see it at Spettacolo on Sunday?

Mate

I would love to but unfortunately someone at Alfa CLub HQ has it in for me. One of my other gigs is I work at Sexpo, and for the last few years the Spettacollo clashes with Sexpo in Melbourne :-)

It would have been doubly good as Sunday is my birthday.

No worries, I suppose I will just have to soldier on and see if we can miss dates next year.

Thanks for your nice comments and I  am just loving driving the Beast around.

Thanks for te info Victor, now I will try and dig up an old copy of the ad, that would make a great poster for the wall.

Glad to see you like the car, I am just having a great time with it and making a list of little things I need to do.

Yes, Zender had one kit available for the GTV6 which was copied locally and used on many GTV6's since - it looks good and is very popular - I've never seen an original Zender kit - I wonder if yours an actual Zender kit or one of the many copies.

Any ideas on how I tell ??  I can ask the guy I bought it from if he put the kit on or not. It has Zender stickers on the side :-)

Scott!  Shhhhhh!  Shocked  Don't give too many secrets away!

But I reckon this could be a fair-dinkum Zender kit.  This is because I don't think the side door panels above the side skirts where ever copied....only the front bumper/spoiler, rear bumper and side skirts; and Shane's car has those side panels.

The only other kit was the Alfa Romeo "Grand Prix" kit which came on last of the GTV6's.  That kit also had wheel arches and was more saqure than the Zender.

Zender stickers were never copied....another indication that yours is very likely the real McCoy!

You might take some more detailed photos of the kit and the stickers - I'm intrigued!

More pickies of the kit.

I am assuming if you are going to knock off a kit you are probably not going to knockoff the logo's etc as that would infringe copyright??

The rear wing, and the sides have a Zender logo moulded on them. And there are 2 Zender stickers one on each side. I was going to try and contact Zender about replacements.

See how I go. I may be able to attend on Wednesday night so that would be cool.

Looks great Shane. Would this car have had the 5 spoke 2/3 piece Zender wheels originally as well?

There's a tiny photo of the Playboy GTV6 on p.38 of Alfas down under Pt2 and there's a bit of a thread on it here:  http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/alfetta-gtv6-1975-1986/21204-playboy-gtv6.html

Hopefully we'll see it at the Spettacolo on Sunday.
