Hi Guys

As work continues on my 33 1.7 carby to get it back on the road I decided to do a compression test.

Not sure whch cylinder is which as far as numbering goes  but here are the results:

Passenger side front 165

Passenger side rear 180

Drivers side front 145

Drivers side rear 105

Obviously I would have been happy with all the same and around the 180 to 165 mark but does anyone have any advice. Does this indicate I need to rebuild or could it just be valve timing/seating which is the issue.

Thanks in advance Guys

Depending on where you are located, Bruno @ Maranello Motors in Brunswick has rebuilt several Sud,Sprint boxer engines over the last few years (including mine) so will be able to give specific advice on this type of engine, whilst any of our sponsor mechanics could give slight more general feedback.  They all advertise on the AROCA Vic site

thanks Ed. Might be making some hard decisions over the weekend, so there could be a 33 1.7 carby on the market :-)

do consider sticking with it as it will be a great car and very competitive.  But if you do decide to sell, list on this forum as you will attract buyers i'm sure

Hi Ed

The Decision was made, also found a replacement last night on the web, so news of that hopefully next week.

Hopefully I will get some of my investment back but I have enjoyed learning more about 33's.
The car will be listed on ebay but I also put a note on the Forum.

Catch ya

Shane
