With team Yellow Peril racing in the throes of being disbanded, and the FER888 SudSprint moving onto a new steerer within days (yes it will still contest club sprints, TROFEO series & 6 hour), a new team is rising from the ashes.

Team FERGTV or Fast Eddie Racing tarmac & Group Sc GTV project is launched.
The car - a CAMS log-booked ex Targa Tassie(98) & Grand Prix Rally of Melb(01) 1979 Alfetta GTV 2ltr.

Currently under the watchful eye of team Padrino - Bruno Colautti, the car will be transferred over to Historic rego before it's competition  debut - P.I. Historics, Divn 2 Regularity, March 9-11.

Following the historic's the car will be readied for the club sprint series and be entered into 1 or 2 "local" tarmac rallies with aim to compete in the Dutton series or Grand Prix rally in 2008 and maybe challenge Colin in Targa. (Sponsors pending Grin)

Hmmm, maybe for regularity but i doubt i will have the time or funds to get my c3 license for Winton.  Will almost definitely do Historic Sandown but again in regularity and as Phil observed, hoepfully a casual local tarmac rally or 2 as well as the AROCA sprint series.

At this stage i will double enter the FER888 sprint in our 6-hour with it's new owner & Team Trofeo 2006 6-hour team manager - Brad who has gotten the bug Cheesy.

Well, not anywhere near up to Phil Basketts standard - car wise and time wise but i ticked off everything i wanted to achieve @ P.I. last weekend -
- driving the car there, getting a pit spot, driving a rear wheel car on any circuit for the first time, driving @ P.I. for only the 2nd time and even then that was in someone else's car for only 3 laps, qualifying and completeing all 3 events and getting home again.
I had a lot of practice with my mirrors with 60, yes 60 other cars on the circuit at the same time, some doing over 30sec a lap quicker than me - Alex Davison, Jim Richards & Peter Fitzgerald to name but a few.

But most forgot this was a regularity event, not a race so i dawdled around and finished 13th/60 in my first event, 12th/60 in the 2nd but for my 3rd it started to rain so i only finished 28th/60 most consistent.

Bit hard to get a regular time going with so many competitors and only 4 laps.

But the new car proved itself a worthy base to work with in the build up to going Group S racing with Phil and Scott etc.

My thanks to my team - Dad, Brother, Brother in Law (flew in form Perth), Dad's mate (flew in from Hobart), Brad and of course my wife Rebecca who allowed me to go racing on our first wedding anniiversary - what a woman!

Great effort Ed,  it was good to see you there as half of the Vic contingent.  A great start to the Grp S journey.
