Hey Guys,

Here is the details about the championship which I came up with tonight.  It seems as though we have a fair bit of interest so maybe once everyone has their game installed and gets some practice we can begin sometime in December.

As for racing, please email me trentharrison@monzamotors.biz with your name, the car you will race and a team name.  Once I get your entry I will add it to this post.

Please let me know of anything I should add to this information.  My points system is fairly random and basically rewards the top 5 the most and points only go down to 12th.

By the way:

Usually in online racing everyone has to use the cars that come with the game - but there is a way to add skins to those existing cars, that way when we get around to racing we can have new skins, and race numbers etc.

If you guys (Scott/Trent) wanted Dulux/Ignis/Malvern/Lizard liveried 550s I can oblige, they dont take too long and they would make a nice addition to an online AROCA series.

Maybe Evan could have a Trofeo Alfasud car Smiley

Let me know so I can get onto them soon if need be.

Hey Pete,

Thats sounds like a great idea.

Do you think you could jig up an Ignis 550 Maranello and a Dulux 550.

I think that if everybody had there own skins it would be easier to identify who you are racing against.

#75 for Ignis and #67 for Dulux.

I have been using the Scuderia F1 Livery from no-grip and its pretty cool but an Ignis car would be awesome!

Trent:

No worries mate - if you could post some pics of the cars or direct me to a link where there are some pics I'll get started.

Are you sure you want 550s though?? 575 is the latest and greatest Smiley

Alright.. heres an early sneak peek at the Ignis #75 550... still lots to do obviously and the model looks a bit rough in places - thats just due to the screen shot being from the model display program i use instead of going ingame to check everytime i add something.

Enjoy.. need some pics especially of the sill tho, i cant make out the logos. Cheers

if online, what is the link please?

Scott: need photos... do you still have the page on your website from when the car was FS?

Ed: GTR2 is PC only, I'd recommend specs of approx.... 2MHz processor, 256MB Video card, 512mb-1gb ram for GTR2 especially if you want to play online, not so much for offline single user.
You can go to www.gtr-game.com if you really want, otherwise just go to www.ebay.com.au and get a copy so you can start getting ready to open a tin of whoopass.

Re skinning: can anyone make their own skins.

The long and the short of it is of course yes, in the same way that anyone could drive an F1 car - if you understand my poor and quickly constructed analogy.

Basically you need good knowledge of either Jasc/Corel Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop and a lot of time on your hands.  A simple design like the Ignis car will take me probably 1.5-2 hrs depending on the base model used (for instance, the Ferrari 360 modena model is horrid to skin), whereas I'm expecting the Dulux car to take a bit more.. probably 3 hours if everything goes to plan. I don't really mind that time becuase i enjoy doing it and seeing designs come to life but for some people especially the initial learning time it might be a bit strenous.

I guess like most things, a decent understanding and a decent job doesnt take too long, but a thorough understanding and a thorough job take a bit longer.

I certainly wouldn't classify it as overly difficult, but experience in either of the aforementioned programs is fundamentally necessary.

Thanks Scott - i reckon that'll probably be enough for now though I may need a clearer shot of the actual Dulux typeface and logo, becuase of its age I cant find it in any current logo libraries. I'll be able to get started pretty soon actually, Trent's Banana is nearly finished  Cheesy Wink

Just a few points of clarification:

A) On the Ignis car - I can make out AEI and Australian Airlines on the sill but what is the forward logo/sponsor? Also, are these sill logos the same yellow as the rest of the car or darker.. Hard to tell from small photos.
b) Anyone got pics of the back of the Ignis car???
c) What is the logo between and behind "Dulux" and "Autocolour" on the door of the dulux car?
d) are the angles of the red and yellow sections on the dulux car parallel?

Ignis nearly finished..

Hey Pete,

Sorry I havent been able to reply today I have been working on Group S.

The car looks awesome!!  Grin

When I go to the factory tomorrow I will get some more pictures of it.

I must say that is a truely amazing job you have done, I know how to use photoshop but im not sure whether I could replicate something like that, amazing.

As for what car either one will do, they both have similar performance in game.  Whichever is easier for you.

I'll post some more pics tomorrow.

No worries mate, glad you like it so far. Im not quite happy with the yellow on it yet, although every pic of the Ignis car i see looks different. Easy change anyway.

Can someone confirm also whether the dulux car main colour is very dark blue or black??
