Lizard Lips Racing – BABYCO 6 Hour 2006

Lizard Lips Racing (LLR) Has won the BABYCO 6 Hour Race for 2006. The presentation was held at Bell’s Hotel last night and to great surprise LLR came in first place.
After many people suspected that the team had no chance of finishing the event, LLR proved themselves and the critics wrong by winning the event.
The two standard cars one of which was on ebay only a few weeks ago, did them well and simply proved to everyone that you don’t need a $million car to win, instead consistency and bonus laps was what determined the winner.
With a final factor of 5.9590 LLR was ahead of second place by a margin with their final factor being 6.3905.
Bonus laps rewarded those drivers who did a lap within one second of their nominated time. LLR did a total of 60 bonus laps, 23 by Trent Harrison, 19 by Scott Farquharson, 16 by Hugh Harrison and 2 by Nev Butler. Although Nev didn’t get a large number of bonus laps his consistency was astounding.
Scott Farquharson had a factor among the best in field and it came from his consistency and being as close to his nominated time each lap.
A surprised Hugh Harrison had this to say when asked about the win “I didn’t even expect the cars to finish, let alone winning”.
“This is among our best trophies because its such a hard event and only the drivers who show skill and drive consistently can win” from Scott Farquharson and Trent Harrison.
Nev could only gasp when he received the trophy, it was a fact of “are you serious” and he simply can’t wait for next years event.
LLR would like to take the opportunity to thank the helpers, Tim Engelsman, Mick Aarons, Rob Gleeson, Wendy and Lacey Harrison for their tireless help throughout the weekend. LLR would also like to put out a big thank you to Neil Choi and the organizing committee, the officials and all the flaggies.
