Spettacolo 2008 – Sunday 23rd November.
Como Park Reserve, South Yarra.
Most important: Cars arrive 9.00am for 10.00am start.
Look for the Flags and the signs off Alexandra Avenue, South Yarra.
This year, we will be looking for assistance on the day especially for the judging for the respective classes. Several people have volunteered already and a few extra hands to help with vehicle mgt would be appreciated.
This year, we have expanded our vehicle classes to include the range of current models including 159, Brera, Spider, 147 and GT. Please complete the entry form and register on the day. Please come along and support the event and have a great day. We will be having a BBQ, coffee van and gelati van onsite for the day. The Club Shop will be selling our latest merchandise and some our club sponsors will have trade displays.
In particular we encourage:
• All members supporting the club by entering in the Wash & Shine.
• Entry in Class K for non club members with any Alfa model.
• Voting in Peoples Choice Award.
This year every member that enters a car into Wash’n Shine or Concours Event goes into the draw for a $100 worth of Club merchandise. Someone has to win!
Over the last few days, I have had a lot of interest and a few common queries.
In summary:
• A non member can bring in their car into the park as they can enter into their own Wash’n Shine.
• Members can bring their cars(s) and park in the reserve.
• You do not have to enter into the competition.
• We would like to see as many Pininfarina cars there as possible i.e. 164, Brera, Spider etc.
• We encourage visitors (alfisti) to come along, show of their cars (Alfas).
• join our club and start getting benefits.

After much debate this afternoon as to whether we should cancel Spettacolo this Sunday due to the weather, it has been decided that we will go ahead subject to any worsening of the current forecast conditions. So bring your cars and bring your woolies, but be there, if you are a non AROCA member and wish to bring your Alfa along you are more then welcome, please come and join.

A big thankyou to everyone who came down on Sunday and purchased items from the Club Shop. The shop it took nearly $4000!!
And thankyou to all who helped set up first thing in the morning (especially Phil Baskett who was unwell but still came to help) and throughout the day!

Well done all for what sounds like a very succesful event despite the threat of weather cancellation! Well done Ness on nearly getting to my Spettacalo club shop record!  Actually it is probably on par. |

Thanks to all who helped on the day.
At the midday count we had 103 cars on the ground with more still arriving til about 2.00pm - and that was with grey rain threatening skies most of the day ! And in all about 50 entries in the Wash'n Shine.
Great reports all day. Don't know how many extera cars we would have had as the ground was pretty full.

Great to see so many people & cars turn up.
Load of friendly advise, including suggestions on removing the addtional extras on my 105. Who knows what the previous owner was thinking !
Nice to see someone even took a picture of the old car ! ( the one missing the chunk of bog / paint on the hood )
