What you don't fully appreciate - Mr Cool Dude with the glasses - is that, in my view ( & many others ) , the 164Q is a completely different beast to the vehicle exhibited on that show - but sharing some positive common characteristics.
Perhaps you need to have a spin in one to fully appreciate the sublime characteristics of such a beautifully balanced, great sounding, fully optioned & good looking late model 4 door saloons around !!
Ciao big boy !!

It's a miracle !! Gave the screen a wipe with a 'special cloth' - waited for the rain - dreading the moment it started to dribble again - pause - pause - but hey presto - the wipers stopped misbehaving - no more jumping across the screen ! ! Maybe the blades were new after all & needed some TLC before they performed ??!! Wish all the Alfisti moments were this effortlesly fixed !!
Many thanks to Thmpr & John H for their input..........

Thanks Thmpar for your prompt reply - as the rubbers are supposedly 'new', perhaps they are not ? I thought the same as you, but, seeking a second opinion, and as the forum has far many more experienced Alfisti than me amongst the flock, I thought that I should seek further counsel.
I shall buy some replacements & report back.

Technical / 932 Series (156, GTV, Spider, 147, and 166) / 156 windscreen wipers

Hi guys
It rained yesterday so the wipers were used for the first time - suffice to say that as the rubbers swished across the windscreen, they jumped a lot - like they were sticking to the glass - and made a lot of noise. This happenned whether there was lots of rain on the screen or just a little bit - and made no difference whether high or low speed was selected.
Any suggestions on an easy fix ??

Hi Guys Just on the 156 2.5L referred to in the first post some time ago, after some weeks of researching, yesterday I purchased a manual 2002 model with very low kms - for an unbelievably good price.
I'm not sure whether there were many cars ever sold in the manual version, however, I would recommend any of you who are looking for a practical, modern Alfa sedan with grunt, all the bells & whistles ( well at least mine has ), great sound, and plenty of attitude, should seriously have a look thru the classifieds, cos value for money, this is one of the best modern Alfa packages going around............
Of couse, there is the serviceing side of things to consider every 60kms or whatever - which do add up to a few $$$ - but, at this early stage, I'm one happy Alfisti !!!
Cheers all

Tim In my view, 105's are an absolute delight to drive anytime.......until you push just a little bit, and then the rear wants to catch up with the front & you get this experience you call........"twitchy"......and as far the rain goes.............the moment you think you have it covered, is the moment that it becomes incredibly "twitchy" again......
Cheers Len

Good on you Phil - good of you to post those superb racing Alfa shots - only thing missing was another Alfetta to dice with - oh, yes, I mean a very fast red one - OP GP track favours big time the Alfetta chassis over the earlier model 105 series ( in my opinion ), and you have performed well there before ( haven't you ?).
Scott & Phil & the other 4 completed Group S or N Alfa enthusiasts or the like - you have to come to Wakefield Park on September 21st & 22nd for the East Coast Alfa Challenge ( or whatever its called ) - don't forget to mark that on your calendar !!!
The FOSC meeting the weekend before last introduced about 2 -4 new racing or regularity Alfa competitors and was really good from that point of view !! Most people had a ball.......

As I mentioned previously Mr Hollywood, the Alfetta is such a better balanced chassis & therefore a better handling unit, than the much older technology 105's etc .......
Dr Tony will be offering his opinion on how to fix 'the hole at the front' soonest..........
