dont know about alfas, but most jap cars are not actually meant to take chargers etc in the cig lighter.
in actual fact they are to fat to fit the hole and they push the contacts in the bottom out too far
so when you put your lighter back in it wont stay down. Most manufacturers now fit 12v plugs intended solely for
accessories(stanav,phone charger etc).

I would pull fuse out and try bending contacts in the socket back out, usually fixes most of the ones I see.

not sure about the special tool. Im going to do a dummy run on my spare trans tonight. Im hoping the calipers are ok.
because ive got three good brake pads and one that is nearly on the metal.my handbrake is quite high so im hoping that its just an adjustment problem

let you know how I go

thanks greengtv8,

Thanks heaps for the tips, Ive never done rears before on an alfetta so should be quite interesting. Hopefully can get a hoist free at my workshop to do it on.

Cheers

I have to replace the rear brake pads on my alfetta on the weekend. I will follow the worshop manual, but I also know there a pain in the @$*?! to do, so I was after any pointers handy hints or things to look out for.

Is it common for these calipers to sieze? I was replacing the flex hose on the rear and noticed that three out of the four pads were about 70% and that one was nearly on the backing plate.

For sale,

One set of EBC red brake pads to suit steel bumper Alfetta GTV 2.0, brand new in box (with stickers whoohoo!).

Send me a message or give us a call 0423734672 if interested

I have upgraded brakes and no longer require these.

I am asking $80.00 or make me an offer, cant remember what they cost me.

This forum is a good avenue to finding parts and info we need.

Thanks

Cheers Phil,

Do you have a phone number for him?

I have spoken to garry Wrench re getting a fibreglass hatch made up, but he no longer does them.
I guess I'll keep looking for someone to make one for us, or for a good secondhand one, or I could just replace the old bog in mine with some new bog.

If anyone else knows of anyone that can help me out with either a fibreglass rear hatch or a good secondhand one will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys,
Managed to track down window runner from milano.

One other question, does anyone if theres someone in aust that does rust repair sections, or will I have to make them up. Ive noticed that highwood alfa do some.
I need the lower part of the front guards behind the front wheels, pretty much the only rust on the vehicle except for the rear hatch, which is looking like it will cop a fibreglass replacement. The rest of the car has been drenched in that rust protector stuff they spray on cars when new.Its a pain in the rear they put it everywhere and I mean everywhere.

Cheers

Hi All,

I am chasing the black strip that sits between two r/h rear side windows. does anyone know if this is just a bolt in job or is it fixed. Mine is rusted and needs replacing.

Im also chasing a good rear hatch and set of extractors to suit 2L
