Hi all,
I am looking to purchase a set of 14 by 6 wheels for the GT junior second hand. My taste is pretty broad so please PM me if you have a set you would like to get rid of- from something in the style of the standard 2000 GTV wheel to a minilite look...I would love some Vegas but the budget won't stretch that far!
Regards
Adam

Thanks for the replies, though I am not even going there with the references to shearing sheds!
Scott- After further consideration and checking out my budget and the details of the sprint classes, I think it's best for me to jump into the standard class to develop my skills. Given the 2.5l is cheaper (it has to be a V6...so the heart tells me!) and with the gearing talk I will head down that path.
Sheldon- Thanks for your thoughts re the LSD. Will catch up with you on Saturday to have a chat about preparing a car etc, and likely harass a few v6 owners.
Will start looking around for a car late in the year.
Cheers

After some consideration I am thinking of canning the '105 to track-day spec' idea. So money for it will be allocated to fixing up the interior and the few patches of rust on it rather than performance mods.
So I have started researching a bit about 75's as watching some of the AROCA sprints, the cars I noticed most were a couple of great sounding 2.5 V6 75's (and a 90 as well!).
I have spent most of the day trolling through forums and am in two minds. Would it be worth spending that little bit more and finding a 3 litre, or should I just find a cheap 2.5, slightly modify it and run it until it goes bang?
I am leaning towards the latter, but would appreciate some opinions/advice/stories- I believe the 2.5 did not have an LSD for a start, is this a massive issue though? Also, from research thus far it sounds as though a 3ltr can go in without too much trouble. I am hoping for some ballpark figures on complete 3 ltr engines to see if this way is worthwhile.
Thanks
Adam

On behalf of all the other new member's who attended last night, a big thanks to all the committee members who made us all feel most welcome, and another thank you to the guy's at Zagame's who let us loiter in their showroom for several hours past closing!
The 5000km 156 GTA seemed to be creating the most interest on the floor.
Looking forward to the next meeting.

Thanks for the advice guys- Arese is the trip that it seems I must make time for. The original plan was to get a day in at Monza for the GP, but they only sell general admin tickets for the Fri-Sat-Sun as one lot- no single days, and that is all I could squeeze in. I am already wondering how I will be able to come back, but the girlfriend and the 105 will be here after all . Though if I find a step nose over there in a barn... Have a nice weekend!

Here are some pics of my little GTJ- taken at Lake Mountain just after I bought it, so before the suspension and brakes were done!
Can't spend any more money on it at the moment with this Italian trip of mine coming up, but next on the list are some minilite style 14 X 6 wheels and 195/60 tyres.

G'Day guys, I am heading off to Italy in September for about a month. I will be spending a bit of time in Como before heading to Siena for a couple of weeks to study, ending up in Lucca for a couple of nights before coming home. Does anyone know of any Alfa specialists around these regions that I should drop in to visit? I will hopefully get some time to head out to Arese as well I am sure the parts won't be cheap, but it should be fun practising my Italian with Alfa-related topics!

Congratulations on the purchase Doug, from all the parts hopefully you can build up something perfectly acceptable. I was lucky enough to have a long drive in a 2600 last year, the smoothness of the engine was just astounding, and it felt just full of character.

G'Day Clive,
As a fellow newcomer, I looked around the club website and asked some advice. We are very lucky in Melbourne to have a number of reputable Alfa specialists. My car is looked after by Bruno at Maranello Motors in Brunswick. He has intimate knowledge of the 105's- if only I could get him to write it all down! He doesn't overcharge and is full of advice, particularly for Alfa Club Vic. members!
Regards
Adam
