Thanks Gary!
The EMR sounds great! I've been hanging out for a club drive actually. I'll check and let Kate know.

Just did 600kms to Bairnsdale and back but on boring roads I have to say.

Hi Guys
I'm planning to get my 1973 105 repainted underneath by a panel shop. The previous paintwork seems to be slowly coming off!

Is sandblasting the best option? What's soda blasting? Does the suspension etc have to be removed first?

What should I bear in mind when doing this in order ot keep it original e.g. type, colour or style of paint?

Any painting tips? and is there special paint that ensures it is rust proofed?

Thanks for your advice!

Clive

I was at Bennicas Motors the other week in Melb. There are a few Montis in there.

Thanks guys. I ended up using a guy on Darebin Road, Heidelberg. I can recommeded his workmanship and his prices are reasonable. Smiley His workshop has some real old beauties in there as well which is always a good sign. I'll find his card and post his details up.

thanks guys. There does not seem to be any free play in the doors so perhaps a panel beater is the next step. Thanks for your help Victor! The grease on the door latch was a big help in assessing the problem.  Smiley

HI
I found somewhere to take it. Goes in soon so hope to hear the twin cam in its glory soon.

I'm definitely keen to come to the new members night on the 28/5.  Keen to join with any other events also. Would have liked to have made it to Winton but could not.

As far as I know it is an original aircon unit and it works as well!

The car has matching nos as well which I checked with AR in Milan (per email addres here..)

yeah sorry. It is a 1974 105 2000GTV. Is that the right model description?

These model names are a bit confusing to a person new to the marque. Undecided

hi
Every 2000 I have seen has the fake woodgrain dash finish. Mine has a silvery finish. Is this standard or perhaps a special release? It looks standard and well finished... pic attached

HI
Thanks for the advice. I applied some grease to check alignment. on the side of the door the catch mechanism as curved half loop metal bits on the top and bottom of it and these seem to be intended to go into a groove on the top and bottom of the door catch on the B pillar. In my case they do not they go onto the outer edge of the door catch which I think is forcing the door upwards when it it closed.

Should the curved metal half loops go into the grooves on the door catch?

Thanks Victor. You're right. I should have a go. I just bought the car so hands on stuff is a frontier.  Cheesy
