7  General Category / Buy/Swap/Sell / Re: FS - set of Campagnolo alloys to suit 105 on: September 17, 2008, 07:10:49 PM
can i just say that is way to much .

my m8 bought a alfa 33 with those mag for $700
I very much doubt that your mate bought 33 with those wheels. would have great difficulty putting wheels off 105 onto 33.
What you may have wanted to say was that your mate bought a car with similar wheels and according to your limited knowledge you have oppinion that any wheels looking similarly should cost almost nothing.

In 4x108 PCD turbinas (that is what those wheels are called) are little bit rarer and in demand as they are appropriate for the 105 series cars.
Now, if you were to ask if the wheels are campagnolo or cromodora, die cast or sand cast and what was the offset that woudl be much more conducive to determining the market value of those wheels.

BTW Ed, the title says campagnolo and the picture is titled cromodora ? which is it?

11  General Category / Buy/Swap/Sell / Re: Bridgestone Potenza GIII in 195/60/14 on: July 23, 2008, 01:04:14 AM
Never considered putting GIII on 156 or 147 for that matter. I have mostly stayed away from Pirelli tyres, they have a reputation for quick wear and combining that with my lead foot would not be good economy. So i cannot give you direct comparison.
The thing I gathered by reading and talking to people is that different tyres work for different cars. GIII seem to have been popular with people occasionally tracking a car but not wanting to shell out for R-type tyres. Also, not many tyres are available in 195/60/14 which is a reasonable size for 105 and 116 cars.
So all in all i cannot really support my preference for this tyre with any scientific or even empirical comparative evaluation. I just think they are good, for what its worth.
12  General Category / Buy/Swap/Sell / Bridgestone Potenza GIII in 195/60/14 on: July 21, 2008, 11:15:11 PM
As you probably know the Bridgestone GIII has been discontinued (which I think is a shame). Bruno from Maranello Pur Sang Motors have dug up some left-over stock. They are priced at $135 each. The price does not include the installation.
These tyres wok well with light cars like 105 or alfetta.
I believe this is the last of them and once gone there will be no more. If you are interested give Bruno  a call on 03 9386 9650

14  State Divisions / Victoria / Re: CH Plates and other stuff. on: July 05, 2008, 02:14:52 AM
interestingly each state seem to have different scheme for club plates. In WA you can even have custom club plates. Same as you, I have not heard anything past the initial rumour couple of years back.  If you think about it, joining a club with busy calendar let's you use your car more often. If the said club had a calendar that included associated events that would give you even greater choice of opportunities.

ad 3) I'm sure that as a returning member you will qualify for a sign-up fee waiver.  Wink

ad 4) All volunteers are gratefully welcome  Grin

ad 5) Permit is singed by our membership secretary or by his approval as he has access to current membership roll.

and finally, does this mean that the love is back and the berlina is back in ?
