The ceramic fuses are mostly 8 amp(or 10), with heavier draw items like high beam lights, cig lighter and rear demister 12 amp (or 15) Don't sweat too much as 15 amp fuses will still save your wiring from frying if there is a problem. You can pick up a multi-pack with a variety of ceramic fuses from Repco. To spin the engine over first time, pull the plugs out, squirt some lube down the plug holes like CRC or light oil and just crank it over with the starter. If it won't turn with a reasonable battery then I'm afraid you will have to pull out the radiator to get on to the crank.

Sorry. Thumbs up for me. You are all to harsh. I think our trouble is we have had too much access to the UK version. The show is obviously a franchise, where the rules are 'do it exactly the same as us!' After all the original is the best rating show on U.K. T.V. If you happen to see Dancing with the Stars, Idol, or (heaven forbid) Big Brother overseas, they are exactly the same as ours. Or more likely ours is a direct copy of their proven recipe. For my money I can look past the presenters quirks, enjoy the format, even the sillyness which is part of the Top Gear character and at the end of the day get cars and guest stars that we can relate to here and now, not 4 year old Pommie episodes, where they believe all old grannies in twin-sets drive Hondas when we know they really drive Volvos. No, I will be glued to the box as usual on a Monday night, and if I want a hit of Clarckson I will download or catch an episode on youtube.

Due to the downturn in the US economy, a financier friend of mine is having a garage sale to clear some surplus items.

Your in deep Doo Doos. First look closely under the dash, they sometimes just break close to the handle where the cable goes under the securing bolt. You might be able to pull the cable with a pair of pliers. Failing that, jack up the car and slide under, looking up on the left hand side near the exhaust. You may be able to wiggle your arm up far enough to get a finger or two on to the cable or latch. I have done this with the help of a coat hanger wire. Resist the temptation to just yank on the bonnet, you might bend it. Good luck. If you need another cable, see me on the EMR.

How sad. Last night on TV they screened the 'Cars' movie which of course had Newman as the x-racer Doc Hudson. I thought it was amaizing how his personality came across in the animation. Too young for such a good fella.

Ash, if your engine is the early type block with the canister oil filter (not the spin off ) then the engine number is on the right hand side or divers side of the block under intake no 2, just behind the fuel pump. Should start with a * then AR........... Your chassis number is stamped on the firewall (not on the plate) and is the I.D. that Archivio Storico can search for you. I don't think they are able to provide much help on engine number alone. Their information is restriced to model, the build date, body and trim colour and the Dealer where it was delivered to. Someone like Vin Sharp at PACE can give you an idea which model car your engine (number) was originally fitted to.
