I'm pretty sure the Milano boys will replace that switch until you get one that works properly

Hey Lars, being an ex Brizneelander, my favourite short run was north on the Bruce Hwy to Caboolture then off towards Woodford, Turn left at the pub and head to Mt.Mee, after Ocean View the descent is quite challenging. This will bring you out at Dayboro where you can go back through Petrie or head to Samford and do the Highvale to Glorious and Nebo thing, just watch out for old bill in the bowl between Nebo & Glorious, not only will you receive an invitation to the next Policemans ball but also a lecture on how many have gone off the side due to lack of grip and ability. Most of all, Have fun mate!
3  Technical / 116 Series (Alfetta Sedan/GT/GTV & Giulietta Sedan) / Re: Cheapest / best place for a Cambelt and cambelt seals change on GTV6? on: November 03, 2008, 09:37:29 AM
Try ringing around all of our sponsors.  They can be found from a link on the home page.

I think $1000 is cheap compared to the belt skipping a couple of teeth, bending valves and stuffing your engine.
Having been on the end of a non specialist repair(previous owner) with the result being exactly what Phil has described, I'd say $1000 is a lot cheaper than the $2700 it cost me to rectify mindless pennypinching.

It looks like something you'd find in the Indycar that's behind it in the pic, surely a V8 single turbo Wink and yes that is a 24v mega beast v6 Grin

Hi Jon, every alfa I've ever owned has had the infamous 2nd gear crunch and if that's your only worry then I'd learn to live with it and just change a little slower. The cost to remove and rebuild will be at least a couple of thousand and you should probably wait until you have a few other things to do as well, i.e.clutch,bearings etc. Good luck mate and welcome to our little forum

Hey Mick, I drive a 3.0l 75 which is great, just hold it in 2nd with the window open and it's all worth it, gotta love that noise. I've also owned a twinnie but that was a transplant into a giullietta, needless to say that was a fantastic engine which I can highly recomend plus, as you said, you get the lsd so go the twinnie as everything on the 3.0l is more expensive and difficult to find.As for the sunroof, steel= Factory, glass= aftermarket.
good luck

Being an ex-brizzo boy I can happily recomend Richard Anderson from Avanti in Northgate
12  Technical / 116 Series (Alfetta Sedan/GT/GTV & Giulietta Sedan) / Re: Hesitation with Starter on: May 12, 2008, 01:22:36 PM
Hi Shane, have a look at the starter relay too. If the relay contacts are a bit average you might not be getting a full 12v to the starter solenoid. On occasion, when mine has refused all attempts to kick over, a jumpstart does the trick, maybe it's just coincidental. My twin spark Giulli used to do similar things, so i replaced the starter relay. If all else fails I can recomend Abruzzo Auto Electrical in Thomastown 9460 9992,old Joe really knows his alfas and young Marco has a very tasty Guillietta
Good Luck

Hey Shane, do you mean a few seconds of hang time before the starter catches. Mine does that too, sometimes I have to hold the key for a good 30secs and sometimes, like yours, no joy at all. I've been told that it's the solenoid but seeing as it is an intermitant fault I can't bring myself to change it yet,I wonder if it's a V6 thing.
