Hi i have a sud we were running not for a bit though it cost us $150 to buy and a clean up inside and out and still even now a great car for track work. It does now have quite a lot of mods 4 years down the track and still has some improving to do in places.they are quite easy to learn in being front wheel drive they are very forgiving, especially when having a heavy right foot.

Hey guys yeah the road noise is bad from scalloped tyres. See it all the time at work, Hey green your g/f's car doesn't have bridgestone's on it by chance,It is more than common for them to go funny for no reason, The best tyre for your money at the moment is the Toyo's they are quality to rival Michelin and Pirelli but are at least half the price. Providing the pressure are kept up at 36 psi for anything from 15" up and rotated regularly they will outlast almost every other brand around. We rotate all tyre's every 5,000 klms for our customers free of charge alot of places will do this but you would need to ask.

I would say being basicly the same as the sud down draughts that have caused me plenty of drama's, its got a blocked jet or idle circuit in the carbi itself. Remove the mixture screw and using an air nozzle blow compressed air in the mixture screw hole, yes some fuel will blow out of carbi but this shifts dirt etc. a good starting point for mix screws is screw all the way then back out 1 1/2 turns.
As for back firing a flame sounds like you also have a spark problem and its trying to cross fire cylinders, have a look inside dizzy cap for cracks and or burn marks.
