it's the rear seat. It's just a reel seat belt. There's a plastic cover over where the seat belt goes in - I'm scared I might break it trying to get it off to have a look. I'm in melbourne, and usually take the car to Giancarlo at Pursang-Maranello.

Hi guys and girls,
the rear driver's side seatbelt in my 164Q is stuck. It is fully retracted and won't budge when I pull on it. Is it easy to fix (remember I'm not a mechanic) or do I need to take it somewhere?
Thanks
3  General Category / General Discussion / Faded leather seat on: September 18, 2008, 07:10:32 PM
The leather in my 164Q is fading, especially the driver's seat. Is there anything I can do to rejuvenate the color rather than re-upholstering? Thanks

Our 159 2.2 Wagon doesn't have bluetooth. At the time I asked the dealer and was told it was only on the 3.2.

I owned a 156 selespeed wagon for 4 years (2003-2006), no problems. I found the change from 1st to 2nd not particularly smooth, so would take my foot off the accelerator - it seemed to make it smoother. As for the cam belt - I've changed the one in my 164Q every 3 years for the last 15 years, - no problems. It all depends if you want to gamble a few thousand dollars of damage against a few hundred for the belt ;-)

Does anyone know of any news regarding it?

Just received a letter from John and Giancarlo from Pur-sang advising that they have merged with Maranello Motors and are moving there.

squeeze being the operative word. 159 wagon much roomier. Can't answer the other two - I claim all the fuel through work so have never measured it.

I owned a 156 selespeed wagon for four years. Very reliable over that time. Boot is fairly small ( we had to keep taking the wheels off the pram to fit it in). My wife loved the selespeed, I prefer a normal manual.

My theory is that they haven't had a new model for a while. The 147 has been around a while. The 159 2 years. Spider and Brera aren't exactly cheap, and there is no 166 replacement.

All the best, and hope you can start enjoying the Q soon.

I've owned a 156 wagon, and now have a 159 wagon. It is a bit bigger. The pram goes into the boot much easier now. We've got the 2.2 manual and it is very good, better than the 156 selespeed. Although my wife says she misses the selespeed in stop-start traffic.

let's see, downsides. Electrics - I don't think I've had every switch working for the last 10 years. There's always something on the blink. Currently, can't see the clock at night, driver side mirror adjustment doesn't work. Went through heaps of batteries. But now that I've moved to Werribee South and am 10 minutes from work rather than 2 minutes, the battery hasn't been a problem. Mechanically sound - I change the timing belts every 3 years. Torque steer is much less noticeable than on the automatic 164 I used to own( or maybe I've just gotten used to it ;-). Turning circle is very, very ordinary. But, very comfortable, great to drive, great engine noise.  And, Sheldon, if you're ever down this way, you are very welcome to take it for a drive!

I've used Garry Blackman in Richmond and was impressed.

I've had my Q since 1992 and love it! It is very reliable and very well looked after by Pur-Sang Motors. I did own a 75 Twin Spark and that was excellent as well. My wife drives a 159 manual, and I haven't decided which car I prefer. The 159 is definitely better than the 156 selespeed we had. The worse Alfa I've owned is a 33 16V. If you were in Melbourne you'd be welcome to take the Q for a drive.
