Hey Phil,  as the "opposition" @ the 6 hour, we don't mind if that's your new toy's first outing!  Gives us all a better chance! (especially after your teams' fantastic performance @ Mallala!)  Cheesy
Seriously though, it looks like a great buy and hope to see it in action before the 6 hour.  Cheers!  Victor
152  State Divisions / Competition / We are going to Mallala! on: June 10, 2006, 06:16:54 PM
Hi all,

Just letting everyone know that two AROCA Vic teams are going to South Australia next weekend to participate in their 6 Hour Regularity Sprint at Mallala (Sunday 18th June).

The teams are:

VICTOREE RACING
Victor Lee and Mary Lee .... Alfetta GTV6 3lt 24v
Tony Hawker .... Alfetta GTV6 2.5lt
Kevin Nesci .... Alfetta GTV 2lt
Ray Pignataro and Sue Pignataro .... Alfa Sud 1.5lt

TEAM ALFA
Phill Baskett .... 105 2lt
Ian James .... Guilia Super
Alex Caldwell .... Alfetta GTV 2lt
Rob Dale and Allan Goodall .... Alfa 75 2lt

Last year Phil's team got a podium spot in third place (what a great first time performance) and our team took 4th place.  There were 20 teams entered.

This year there are 19 teams entered.  Lets hope we can do as good or better than last year!  Cheesy

I'll report back after the event hopefully with some good news!

Victor Lee

Hey Phil,

Don't sell the 105 before the Mallala 6 hour!!  Grin

More seriously, Ateco's General Manager for Alfa Romeo (David Stone) is looking for a 105 1750 race car to run in historic series.  Any in Victoria we can offer to him?

Hi all,

Came across this old article from our Club's Cross & Serpent magazine from July 1992.  At the time I was Club President but was away on an overseas business trip.  I took the opportunity to have the car at Hugh Harrison's Alfpa Repairs for some maintenance.  Little did I know what the Baywater guys and the Magazine Editor were up to until I opened this magazine!  Smiley

FYI, the car was a 1984 silver GTV6 2.5lt, which I had twice won the Bob Gardiner Trophy and Terry Potter Trophy in.  Also a few years of winning Super Modified Class too.  It was very well presented car with Simmons B45s and the ususal modifications.

Unfortunately, the chap who bought it from me let the car go to waste (gaffer tape to hold the steering wheel together, blocks of wood holding up the elec windows when the motors failed, full of rust, both exterior mirrors missing). Sad   Oh yes, he did "improve" it: the cam covers were polished! Shocked   Scott Farquharson acquired it for his top secret "Project X" and now sits in his workshop stripped bare waiting further development (maybe!).   At least it's inside and not rusting anymore!

Oops, pic too small!   Shocked

Here is a picture of myself and wifey Mary in front of the new 159.   Thanks to the new dealer, Zagame Alfa Romeo, for bringing it along which makes the attendees of the dinner the first people to see and sit in a 159 (other than those at the recent motor shows) at one of its functions even before the upcoming official launch on 1st June!   Grin

Dunno what was more exciting: the 159 or the great guest speaker Allan Moffat?

Cheers!

Hey Teuro!

My fire extinguisher is dated 2002 in our road registered yellow Alfetta GTV6.   Wink   In your opinion, do I need to get a new one or not?

Cheers

Victor
