Title: Re: Re-Skining Dashboards Post by: Scott Farquharson on August 16, 2007, 03:52:40 PM Dashboard Doctor in Coburg and the Dashboard Centre in Croydon - looks a million dollars but it is pricey - probably $300 - $400
http://dashboarddoctor.com.au/ http://www.dashboardcentre.com.au/information2.php?info_id=2 I've used the Croydon guy and he was excellent. Title: Re: Re-Skining Dashboards Post by: adriank on April 22, 2008, 11:59:12 AM I need to get this done for ym 1600 Junior - anyone know of anyone in sydney that does this?
Title: Re: Re-Skining Dashboards Post by: freddie on April 26, 2008, 06:29:34 PM Yes Adrian , good question.
I also would like a contact in Sydney for dashboards. Can anyone recommend a good operator please. Title: Re: Re-Skining Dashboards Post by: adriank on May 02, 2008, 11:35:08 AM ok found someone in Sydney (carlton) - they have a good website with a 1750 dash restore picture.
My dash is heading there this weekend, get the wallet ready though - prices start at $650 http://www.consoles.com.au/dashboard.htm Adrian Title: Re: Re-Skining Dashboards Post by: adriank on June 18, 2008, 04:29:59 PM Update to this is that the people in Carlton have now sold their dashboard skinning business to Pro-Stitch in West St Carlton (02) 9547 3424
Prices basically depend on labour required to prep the dash. For a dash with all the usual issues i would expect to pay ~$1.5-2K Adrian Title: Re: Re-Skining Dashboards Post by: Jack on June 30, 2008, 11:54:49 PM Hey gents
If your still interested, I knew I had this knocking around from the World BB. Check out this link on re doing a dash. http://gtam.silvahalo.com/dashrepair/ All the products look unfamiliar but they are described in their function and you could find replacements. I certainly dont have 1.5 - 2 k for a dash. One day when I get a chance I might give it a go. Cheers Title: Re: Re-Skining Dashboards Post by: Colin Byrne on July 01, 2008, 06:13:03 AM Apparently those exact products are a bit hard to find in Australia. I was very temped to give it a go as the results do look good, my only concern was If it doesn’t work or cracks after time is it possible to get it re-skinned once you’ve covered the dash in all that other crap?
Title: Re: Re-Skining Dashboards Post by: maxludo on July 04, 2008, 07:05:45 PM 1.5 to 2k. Jesus!
You're restoration is going to be five figures in no time if you accept prices like that! I know of two people whove got their 105 dash reskinned at this place in melbourne http://www.dashboarddoctor.com.au/ one had it freighted to and from sydney and the other is a vic local. One paid 400 and the other 495. I can't find the pics at the moment but the final product was fantastic and the same texture as factory. Title: Re: Re-Skining Dashboards Post by: Gary Pearce on July 07, 2008, 10:34:38 AM Harry at The Dashboard centre in Croydon has done all mine and he does a fantactic job. He needs to see it to price it as it can depend on the starting condition, $300-600 seems to be the go. 03-97257955 www.dashboardcentre.com.au
Pace Engineering has a source for a fibreglass fact similarly, that then requires painting with a crincle paint. So for a lighter alternative talk to Vin. Title: Re: Re-Skining Dashboards Post by: adriank on July 10, 2008, 05:19:13 PM checked my receipt - dash repair & reskin cost $1300, so not as bad as i thought.
took 20 hrs labour i was told, might try and shop around a bit more next time. Adrian Title: Re: Re-Skining Dashboards Post by: POC on July 22, 2008, 09:36:01 PM Dashboard Centre in Croydon did a great job on my Sud a few years back but apparently no longer reskins dashes which is a pity!
