June 17th Sunday ‘Transaxles and log fires day tour’ Honouring the 116 series. Here we are combining two of the best from last year. This time around a tribute tour for the brilliant Alfettas, Alfetta GTV’s and GTV6’s out there. Book asap. This will be a beauty. Sunday, the 17th departing Eldorado General store at around 9am. After a relaxing day the day before it’s time to blow the cobwebs out, so fill her up and get ready for a spectacular little day trip in true Alfa Romeo style, ‘The Transaxles and log fires tour’, Yes it’s well over due to pay homage to the timeless lines of the 116 series, the marvellous Alfettas, Alfetta GTV’s and GTV6’s. If you own one and would like to take part then by all means join the beautiful GTV vapour trail. We have five GTV’s starting already and booked in so book asap. It should make for some terrific photos on the day. The beautifully balanced 116 chassis, for which it’s renowned for around the world, likes nothing more than some open and flowing country roads to strut her stuff on. Just to keep her honest, we will take on a few Alpine Gap Roads, So sharpen up your footwork, and sweet talk her as much as you can, as you may just need it for this magic little trip in her honour. She will reward you by running cleanly and smoothly long after we get back, so buff her up, tyre black on, it’s time to let her hair down and shine on roads she just craves for. We will be visiting some country locations like the Snow Line Hotel in Harrietville for one of their award winning lunches, stopping off at the beautiful Tawonga Gap lookout to toast up some marsh mellows, stretch out the legs and fill up the lungs with crisp mountain air. We’ll wind-up the day with a yarn around the fire at Victoria’s smallest Pub, the Alfa friendly McEvoy Tavern in Eldorado. All up around 250 ripper k’s. Dinner is available for those staying on a little later. The more 116 series the better so book early this will be a hoot. Taking around 15 entrees. All Alfa models very welcome.
